Stayed in a local AirBnB and this place was recommended. The food was delicious, very top quality and reasonably priced. If we are in the area, we will definitely be returning.
Great lace to eat or drink. Food really tasty, great quality and good portions. Reasonably priced food and drink. Friendly staff and owners are so welcoming. Free carpark just over the road. Great in summer when you can see boats going by from beer garden and pizza shed. Definitely recommend

After a 5 hour drive from London this was just what I needed. A lovely friendly pub with good food and friendly and helpful staff. Well done. Fully recommend this little gem.
Stopping across the road on the campsite at the side of the Ouse so it would have been rude not to drop in for a pint. Little gem of a pub. Very friendly staff. Pub was very clean. Went back to eat that evening. Service was excellent as was the food. Fish and chips for myself which was cooked to perfection. Lovely and moist fish with a slightly crunchy batter, just as it should be. It put a lot of chippie teas in Grimsby, where we are from, to shame. We will be back for tea again tonight
Went to concerts in the conservatory which was very well organised and good live music. Pub is in a lovely location with a large car park. I have been many a time over the years and even had my dad's wake there! I need to try the food sometime but have heard very good things. Nice beer garden with a lovely view of the river.
First evening visiting since moving to the area lady behind the bar welcomed us and Vicky and Phil landlords introduced themselves, we enjoyed the quiz night and everyone was extremely friendly, thank you in helping to settle us in
Staff extremely friendly and polite. Food was good. It would be lovely if they had another lighter pasta dish alongside the lasagne. The pub itself is in a great location opposite the river Ouse & has a lovely outside area to sit in.
We paddled to The Ship in our canoe from York City centre. The pub is next door to a caravan park (although they do B&B) and even has its own mooring on the river Ouse. The welcome was warm and friendly and really hospitable. It was very busy even quite early (6pm) but the food was excellent. Highly recommend the black pudding scotch egg and signature ship burger. Couldn't fault it. Paddle back took a while as we were full of good food and good beer!
